According to reports, Bola Tinubu's aide-de-camp, Lieutenant Colonel Nurudeen Alowonle Yusuf, is the son of Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, the Elemona of Ilemona in the Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Before Tinubu's inauguration on May 29, this has happened. On May 1, 2023, Yusuf will start performing his formal duties once again.
According to Vanguard, he has previously held sensitive positions in the Presidential villa under the previous president Goodluck Jonathan. He will bring to the new position his expertise in intelligence, VIP etiquette, and protection.
He studied at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in the United Kingdom between 2004 and 2005.
He went to the Nigerian Army Intelligence School in Lagos in 2006, where he received instruction in security and intelligence-related topics in accordance with Nigerian Army training regulations and guidelines.
His participation in the Young Officer's Course Infantry, NASI, a second course in Kaduna in 2007, gave him military expertise in the employment of numerous types of weapon systems employed in infantry units as well as special operations.
To advance his skills as a military officer, Yusuf finished the Security Investigations and Tactical Intelligence Officers courses in 2008.
A postgraduate diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University (NOUN) and a master's degree in Defense Studies from Kings College, London, were both earned by him in 2018.
Before being selected as the president-elect's chosen ADC, he recently finished a different military school intended for commanding officers in Jaji, Kaduna.
His education includes the Humanitarian Recovery and Development Unit Course in Sudan (2013), the Joint Information Course in Darfur, Sudan (2013), the Basic Counter Terrorism Training in Kontagora (2013), the VIP Protection Leadership Training in Israel (2013), the UN Military Observers Course in Egypt (2019), the Joint Basic French Course (A1) in Alliance Francais, Abuja (2019), and the Joint Basic French Course (A2) in Paris, France.
Yusuf worked with the 119 Intelligence Group in Lagos as an officer in charge (Technical). After that, he was moved to the HQ 4 Brigade in Benin, where he worked as an operations officer.
In 2015, he was appointed to Officer Commanding, Presidential Body Guard, State House, Abuja. He had previously served as Officer Commanding at State House Military Intelligence Group.
As a Staff Officer Grade 1 for the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corp (NAIC) in 2017, Yusuf worked for the Nigerian Army.
Yusuf graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK in 2005 and was commissioned into the Officers Cadre.
From 2017 to 2019, he worked at Army Headquarters as the Military Assistant to the Chief of Training and Operations. He then received a promotion to Assistant Director of Security and Intelligence.
Prior to being named Tinubu's ADC, Yusuf worked as a staff officer at the NAIC Headquarters in Abuja from 2020 to 2022. He also served as DDA Librarian at the Nigerian Defence Section in Paris, France.
