Lars Mikkelsen, born Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen on May 6, 1964, is a Danish actor. He discovered his passion for performing at a young age and has continued to rise through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after performers.
Lars Mikkelsen studied in the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27 and graduated in 1995.
In The Killing, he played Copenhagen mayoral election contender Troels Hartmann, and in Sherlock III, he played Charles Augustus Magnussen. He also participated in two more globally recognised Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III, in addition to his involvement in The Killing.
