Latto is carrying the energy to the Billboard Music Awards. ET’s Cassie DiLaura addressed the 23-year-old rapper at the 2022 entertainment expo in Las Vegas Sunday about her BBMAs execution and working with Mariah Carey on the remix to her hit track, “Large Energy,” which tests Carey’s 1995 hit, “Dream.”

“It’s so close to home,” Latto said of hitting the BBMAs stage interestingly. “I continue to tell myself, don’t cry. try not to cry. I dressed practice and I was watching my recording, and I was at that point going to cry. I’m like, ‘Young lady, you better not. You better not.'”

She added, “in light of the fact that you petition God for it, you really buckle down for it, appreciate it. Try not to make it a miserable second.”

The second makes certain to be a major one for Latto, who let the media know that there might be a few shocks in front of an audience, including a potential appearance from her “Enormous Energy” partner DJ Khaled.

“I think they have to keep a lookout,” Latto prodded.

While, tragically, she affirmed that Mariah Carey will not be hopping in front of an audience for Latto’s presentation execution, Latto spilled on the thing it was like recording with Carey for the melody’s remix.

“I think I was in shock,” Latto said of seeing Carey hit those notorious high notes face to face. “It was so normal for her. She was in a real sense simply finishing her cosmetics like, *singing.* I’m like, ‘Young lady, would you say you are a human?’ Like, what? In any case, she was so cool thus unassuming.”

“So ordinary” She proceeded. “I in a real sense overthink the entire interaction. I was like, ‘What do I say? how would I act? I don’t want to do excessively, I don’t want to do close to nothing.’ But she was so cool, and she made the entire cycle extremely, fun. You know, this stuff can be overpowering, she made it fun.”

Carey has been strong of Latto in and beyond the studio, tweeting and saluting the rapper. Latto said it’s “all up from here,” in the wake of making the progress from superfan to teammate with Carey.

“Everything,” she said of having Carey’s help. “Mimi is a legend, and my mother and my aunties are superfans. Growing up, I saw her banners on their divider, and actual CDs. Mimi is that young lady, and I got a tune with her so it’s everything up from here.”
