Lawrence N. Brooks was a WWII veteran in the United States Army. As a super-centenarian, he was believed to be the oldest man in the United States and also the only surviving person from the second world war.
He was born on September 12, 1909. He was from New Orleans, Louisiana. He served in the US army from 1940-1945. Even though he had no formal education, he was drafted into the army at age 31.

He got discharged after his one year mandatory service but he got into the army again during the attack on the Pearl Harbour by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service.
