Linda Jean Burney, born 25 April 1957 on is an Australian politician who has served in the Australian House of Representatives since 2016 as a member of the Australian Labor Party, representing the Barton.

She is the Shadow Minister for Families and Social Services, as well as Family Violence Prevention.

From 2003 until 2016, Burney served in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as a Labor member for Canterbury.

She was the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in New South Wales and also served as the Shadow Minister for Education and Aboriginal Affairs.

She was Minister for the State Plan and Minister for Community Services in the Keneally government. Burney served as President of the Labor Party between 2008 and 2009.
