Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation in South Africa, along with Reginah Mhaule, was Luwellyn Tyrone Landers.

Landers was a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence, the Joint Committee on Ethics and Members Interest, the ANC National Disciplinary Committee, and the Justice and Constitutional Development parliamentary department.

In addition to serving as the Labour Party’s chair under the late Allan Hendrickse, Mr. Landers was a member of the bicameral parliament. Landers was a deputy minister in President PW Botha’s National Party cabinet in the 1980s.

Just before the general election in April 1994, in September 1993, Landers was one of several MPs from the Labour Party to join the ANC. He was chosen to serve in the National Assembly as an ANC member in 1994. The final constitution was negotiated and presented to the Constitutional Court with his selection as a delegate.
