Two teenage passengers were killed in a fatal car accident, which was horrifying. Driver MacKenzie Shirilla was charged after the incident for the murders of Davion Flanagan and Dominic Russo.
The young woman was sentenced in August 2023, and she sobbed as she delivered a message of regret to the victim’s relatives.
The tragedy also took the life of Davion Flanagan, who was 19 years old. Driver MacKenzie Shirilla was detained for aggravated vehicular homicide on November 4 of the same year. Prosecutors claim that when Shirilla accelerated her Toyota Camry into the Plidco Building, a sizable brick structure at the intersection of Progress and Alameda roads, passengers Russo and Flanagan were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 5:30 a.m. on July 31, 2022.
Shirilla was taken to the hospital following the collision and later released; weeks after the event, TikToks later showed her attending a concert and celebrating Halloween. Shirilla’s mother claimed that the outings were the only times she took care of herself, noting that her daughter had spent months hiding up in her room sobbing next to a shrine to Dominic Russo.
