Mama Left Me And I Lost Myself — Wizkid Writes About An “Expensive Pain”

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, also known as Wizkid, continues to mourn the death of his mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun.

He said his mother abandoned him and he lost himself. He can feel himself again, and he is grateful that his fans are going through it with him.

As previously reported, the well-known singer used Instagram Stories to share the tracklist for her upcoming EP, “S2,” which is scheduled for release on Friday, December 22.

A few days after his mother passed away, Wizkid wrote one of the songs, “Idk,” featuring Zlatan Ibile. Wizkid recalled the tragic incident.

He continued by saying that even though he feels like his life has no purpose now that she is gone, he has persevered.

In 2009, Wizkid started working on his first studio album, Superstar. On January 2, 2010, he released “Holla at Your Boy” as the lead single from the album. He won the Next Rated prize at The Headies 2011 for the song, which was also nominated for Best Pop Single.

He received a 2012 Hyundai Sonata from the organizers in addition to the award. The 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards featured a nomination for its music video for Most Gifted Newcomer Video.
