Margaret Ferrier is a Scottish politician who was brought forth into the world on September 10, 1960.
The Scottish politician has since 2019 been serving as Member of Parliament (MP) for Rutherglen and Hamilton West.
She is noted to have previously served in the post from 2015 to 2017.
Ferrier is a candidate for the Scottish National Party (SNP). She garnered acclaim after her first election to the House of Commons in the 2015 general election.
Ferrier ended up eventually losing her seat to Ged Killen of the Labour Party at the 2017 general election but regained it two years later.
A native of Glasgow, Scotland, Ferrier was suspended on October 1, 2020 by the SNP for breaching COVID-19 lockdown rules after the party leader and Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon called on her to resign her parliamentary seat.
The politician was arrested on January 4, last year and charged with “culpable and reckless conduct”. Having pleaded guilty, Ferrier was later sentenced to community service.
