Mariah Carey is bringing the show! A quarter century after the songstress dropped the dramatic music video for her tune, “Honey,” she enrolled a few unique visitors to reproduce a notorious scene for TikTok.
In a video shared throughout the end of the week, Carey sits in a cosmetics seat professing to be held hostage by criminals. The star lip-adjusts her personality's scandalous requests in Spanish as More odd Things star Millie Bobby Brown and her beau, Jake Bongiovi, fill the role of the buffoonish mobsters that attempt to cross-examine her.
Carey's sweetheart, Bryan Tanaka, and her kid twins, Moroccan and Monroe – – whom she imparts to ex-Scratch Gun – – likewise play bad guys in the video.
“‘Go eat a smorgasbord,'” Carey subtitled the TikTok post, citing a well-known line from the music video.
“Honey” was the lead single off Carey's 6th studio collection, Butterfly, which was delivered on Sept. 16, 1997. Last week, the 53-year-old vocalist declared the arrival of an exceptional 25th-commemoration release of Butterfly, which incorporates eight new extra tracks from the collection's accounts and a narrative about the creation of the “Honey” music video.
Last Friday, Carey praised the commemoration and new collection discharge on Instagram, referring to the arrival of Butterfly as “one of the proudest snapshots of my life and vocation.”
“I had never felt more uncovered and powerless yet free and euphoric simultaneously. It was a genuine Liberation (seriously!) of my soul, soul and deepest sentiments which I filled each verse and each note on each tune,” she composed. “25 years (😳) later it's as yet one of the proudest snapshots of my life and profession. I want to believe that you appreciate remembering this excursion with me.”
