Marriage Is Like A Relay Race, Your Success Depends On Who You Marry – Reno Omokri

Outspoken Nigerian author and socialite, Reno Omokri has advised people to be wary of who they marry as the success of their marriage is largely dependent on their partner.

According to the veteran, marriage is like a relay race where it takes a combined effort of all teammates to achieve success or a win and therefore the failure or success of any marriage depends on who you partner.

“In a relay race, it is not just your performance that determines if you win. The performance of your teammates affect whether you succeed or fail. Marriage is a relay. Whether you succeed or fail in life is affected by who you marry. Never forget that!”

He added that irrespective of the caliber of the couple, marriage can fail or last long depending on the character and attitude of the couple.

“Nobody, whether celebrity, or nonentity, has a perfect marriage. Some celebrity marriages still last after decades (an example is Denzel Washington’s marriages, which is still strong at 39 years), and nonentity marriages that last weeks. The key is in the attitude of the couple. It is not by their status!”
