Born on July 13, 1962, Michael Andrew Jace is an American character actor and convicted murderer. He gained notoriety for his portrayal of Los Angeles Police Officer Julien Lowe on the FX series The Shield. In a Cold Case episode, he also portrayed Andre Tibbs, an ex-convict mover who was charged with murder.

At his Hyde Park, South Los Angeles home, Jace was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department on May 19, 2014, in the evening. This was after he had called 9-1-1 himself and reported domestic abuse, saying, “I shot my wife.”April, Jace’s wife, was found dead from gunshot wounds when the police arrived.

Jace admitted to the shooting after being questioned by the police about the death of his wife. Interviews led investigators to conclude that he shot his wife out of jealousy.

June 20, 2014, saw Jace’s arrest following his wife April Jace’s death by gunshot. On May 31, 2016, a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder, and on June 10, 2016, they sentenced him to 40 years to life in prison.
