The mayor of Boston, Massachusetts, since 2021 is Michelle Wu, who is an American lawyer and politician. Qu was born on January 14, 1985. She is a Democratic Party supporter. Wu was the first Asian American woman to hold office on the Boston City Council and was the daughter of immigrants from Taiwan
Wu served on the council from 2014 to 2021, including a term as president from 2016 to 2018. She was first elected in 2013 and served on it until that time.
In 2003, Wu graduated from Barrington High School as a salutatorian. She was chosen as an Illinois Presidential Scholar in 2003. Wu relocated to the Boston area to study at Harvard University, where she earned an economics degree in 2007.
