Miguel Van Damme Cause Of Death
Van Damme suddenly died on March 29, 2022, from leukaemia. From his medical history, he was diagnosed with leukaemia in June 2016 following a routine check-up before the 2016–17 season. A year later, his career was abated and he signed a new contract with Cercle until June 2019.
He played in the 2017–18 Belgian Cup on 20 September 2017 against Genk and was attending to his health simultaneously. In January 2020, his situation aggravated and was informed of his low chance of survival.
This did not deter him from signing a year contract with Cercle on June 16, 2020, as he was receiving immunotherapy. On October 18, 2021, he relapsed again, making him battle leukaemia for the fifth time in five years. He couldn’t survive this time around.
