Naira Marley, Sam Larry Granted Bail After Weeks In Detention, Receive Stern Warning

After weeks in detention, Nigerian artist Abdulazeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and his assistant, Samson Elutu, also known as Sam Larry, were released on bail.

According to a report obtained by Kemi Filani, the beleaguered industry executives were not granted bail, but were instead ordered to pay three N20 million sureties.

It has also been mandated that Naira and Larry give up their foreign passports and appear every week at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The magistrate forewarned them not to get in touch with her personally because any attempt would be recorded and might be revealed during public court proceedings.

Following the death of late musician Mohbad, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arrested and accused of physically abusing the singer.

Last week, Naira Marley and Sam Larry filed a lawsuit against the Magistrate and the Police for their indefinite detention.

Naira Marley, whose real name is Azeez Adeshina Fashola, is a British-Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is regarded as the head of his contentious “Marlians” fan club.
