Naomi Judd was an American country music singer and actress born Diana Ellen Judd on January 11, 1946 in Ashland, Kentucky, United States.
Judd was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame as a member of The Judds alongside her daughter Wynonna in 2021.
She first attended a nursing school at California’s College of Marin while living in nearby Lagunitas, California.
Later, she started a singing career which turned out successfully with her daughter Wynonna Judd.
Judd formed the singing duo known as the Judds alongside her daughter, Wynonna Judd.
Their singing duo career which became successful was dubbed country music’s most famous mother–daughter team.
They scored twenty top-10 hits and went undefeated for eight consecutive years at all three major country music awards shows. In addition, the duo further won five Grammy Awards and a vast array of other awards and honors.
A songwriter, Judd again won a Grammy for country song of the year with the Judds’ hit “Love Can Build a Bridge”.
