Oros Mampofu says that despite his rising fame, he stays grounded because of his faith and desire to leave a lasting legacy for his two kids.
Along with starring in SABC’s Skeem Saam, he later appeared in Netflix’s Savage Beauty and KykNET’s Hartklop.
The 32-year-old said to TshisaLIVE that his faith in Jesus Christ has kept him grounded in the entertainment business ever since he rose to popularity.
“You transverse in your journey, you learn, see and experience a lot of things and you realise very quickly the person who keeps us under your hand is him.
Jesus is really the one. It can all seem like the perfect answer or the novel answer but it is until you’ve experienced everything you realise that this really makes a difference. Knowing I’m safe under him is really good.”
Oros wishes to set an example of a life that his kids may look back on for themselves. He has two daughters with his partner Bianca Carmichael.
“I think my desire, my hunger to be an example to them in the best way possible, it keeps me hungry and aggressive, but it also keeps me anxious and aware.
I’m trying to keep that balance because you can move boldly and be confident and crash like that car moving at 180km/h but be too slow and end up losing your opportunities because you are under the shell.
“So it’s always this game of figuring out the balance, and always trying to strike a healthy balance and it takes discernment. Obviously we are human, we will fall at some point because we are not perfect. The only person who is perfect is Jesus.”
