Prince Andrew Faces Fresh Calls For FBI Probe Over His Friendship With Jeffrey Epstein

Emails that appear to support allegations that Prince Andrew “lied” about his association with Jeffrey Epstein in his BBC Newsnight interview have raised new concerns about the relationship.

Despite the royal claimed to have broken off all contact in 2010, a note sent by the deceased millionaire paedophile and made public as part of a legal dispute in the US reveals that he was promoting Andrew, 63, as a potential investment in 2011.

The prince was urged to talk to the FBI by Epstein’s victims last night, but he has so far declined. Unknown is whether Andrew, who was spotted riding in Windsor today, was aware that Epstein had referenced him in the email.

The representative of the victims, US attorney Spencer Kuvin, informed the Mirror: “It seems that either Epstein exaggerated his relationship with Prince Andrew, or the duke may not have been entirely truthful about when their friendship ended.”

One victim, who received compensation through the Epstein victims’ compensation program, raised serious concerns about the situation, stating: “The emails bring up serious questions. Why would Jeffrey be praising him as an investor if they were no longer in contact?”

An email written by Epstein to JP Morgan on August 31, 2011, suggested Prince Andrew as a potential investment partner because “he is now allowed to make money.”

This revelation came to light during a lawsuit filed by the US Virgin Islands against the bank, accusing it of being complicit in Epstein’s crimes. In a counterclaim, JP Morgan accuses the territory’s officials of accepting money and favors from Epstein in exchange for turning a blind eye to his abuse of women on the island.

In a 2019 interview with BBC’s Emily Maitlis, Prince Andrew claimed to have severed ties with Epstein after visiting him in New York in December 2010. When asked if he saw or spoke to Epstein again, the duke replied, “No.”

Epstein had served approximately 13 months in jail in 2008 after being convicted of procuring a minor for prostitution and sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl. However, Prince Andrew continued his association with Epstein following his release.

In the same BBC interview, Prince Andrew acknowledged that his friendship with Epstein and the opportunities it provided were “very useful” but claimed not to recall the photograph where he is seen with his arm around Virginia Roberts, now known as Virginia Giuffre.

Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide while in jail in 2019. His former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, who was also a friend of Prince Andrew and appears in the background of the photo with Ms. Giuffre, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.

Recent reports suggest that the royal may be forced to vacate his Royal Lodge residence by his brother, King Charles.
