“Year of Health” by Rebel Wilson was a huge hit. The actress from Pitch Perfect lost nearly 80 pounds and reached her goal weight.
But, more importantly, she appears to be happy with her new way of life.
She’s been filming Senior Year for Netflix, hosting the BAFTAs, traveling extensively, and flaunting her body “on Instagram shamelessly,” as she told People.
The 42-year-old actress has been open about her weight-loss struggles, but how did she succeed? Everything you need to know is below:
Rebel Wilson’s Weight Loss Journey
Rebel declared 2020 her “year of health,” promising her fans that she would prioritize fitness and work toward her goal weight of 165 pounds. She’s been achieving this through a combination of exercise and a healthy diet.
Rebel first revealed her plans on her Instagram account in January 2020. She started by simply increasing her walking and eating more healthily. “I changed into my athleisure and went for a walk,” she explained.
“Right now, I’m hydrating on the couch and trying to stay away from sweets and junk food, which will be difficult after the holidays, but I’m going to do it!”
“Thanks for all the love so far on my ‘Year of Health’ journey—when I went for the candies last night after dinner, I thought to myself, ‘hmmm…better not,’ and instead had a bottle of water,” she wrote in an update at the end of August.
Rebel shared a photo of herself showing off her progress and a beautiful view during a hike on Instagram, revealing that she was three kilos (approximately six pounds) away from her goal weight. (Her trainer, by the way, is a firm believer in progress photos, but more on that later.)
