Ripunath Seth was a former Odisha Minister and Congress leader who passed on at the age of 67 on March 27, 2022, at Barpali.
He complained of not feeling too well in the morning and was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Barpali where he eventually succumbed to death.
He served as a Minister during the tenure of former Chief Minister JB Patnaik’s cabinet.
He contested in 1990 as the Congress candidate but lost to the late Nikunja Singh.
He, however, got elected to the assembly in 1995 from Bijepur on a Congress ticket. He held the positions as the School & Mass Education Minister, Energy and Sports portfolios from 1995 to 2000.
