Rishi Sunak (born 12 May 1980) is a British politician who has been the Chancellor of the Exchequer since 2020. From 2019 to 2020, he was the Chief Secretary to the Treasury. He is a Conservative Party member.
Rishi Sunak Early life
Sunak was born in Southampton, England, on May 12, 1980, to Indian parents Yashvir and Usha Sunak. He is the oldest of three brothers and sisters.
Yashvir's father was born and raised in Kenya's Colony and Protectorate, while Usha was born in Tanganyika (which later became part of Tanzania).
His grandparents were born in Punjab Province, British India, and emigrated to the United Kingdom in the 1960s with their children from East Africa.

Sunak worked as an analyst at the investment bank Goldman Sachs from 2001 to 2004. In September 2006, he started to work with The Children's Investment Fund Management, where he became a partner.
He left in November 2009 to join former colleagues at Theleme Partners, a new hedge fund firm with $700 million in assets under management that launched in October 2010.
