Ronald Dion DeSantis is an American politician and attorney. He was born on September 14, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Karen and Ronald Daniel DeSantis. He comes from a long line of Italian immigrants who came to the US in 1904. He grew up in Florida. His sister, Christina Marie DeSantis was born on May 5, 1985, in Orlando and died in 2015.
He attended Dunedin High School, where he graduated in 1997. After graduating from Dunedin High School, DeSantis attended Yale University. He was captain of Yale’s varsity baseball team and joined the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. While attending Yale he would work a variety of jobs which included being an electrician’s assistant, baseball camp coach, and other odd jobs.
He is currently serving as the 46th governor of Florida since 2019. DeSantis is a member of the Republican Party. He represented Florida’s 6th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2018. DeSantis was first elected to Congress in 2012 and was reelected in 2014 and 2016.
