Scott Scovell Hamilton is a famous retired American figure skater and Olympic gold medalist. He was born on the 28th of August, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio. Scott never knew his parents and was adopted by Dorothy Mclntosh who was a professor and Ernest S. Hamilton also a professor of biology.
He was raised in Bowling Green, Ohio along with two siblings namely; Steven who was also adopted and Susan; a biological child of the parents.
Scott schooled at the Kenwood Elementary School. He developed the love for skating at a very young age and began training with a former Olympic Champion called Pierre Brunet.
Scott attended the Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He had to stop skating when the cost of training became to high to bear. Helen and Frank McLoraine provided financial assistance to Hamilton to continue his training.
Hamilton has gone on to win four consecutive Championships in the United States from the year 1981 to 1984. He won a gold medal at the 1984 Olympics and four consecutive World Champions.
