Ghanaian singer Shatta Wale has praised Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning musician from Nigeria, demonstrating his lack of animosity for him.
Unexpectedly, Shatta Wale sent the musician flowers via Snapchat in appreciation of the global impact he is having on African music.
Burna Boy's repeated record-breaking accomplishments have made Nigerians and other Africans proud, and this is no longer breaking news.
Shatta made the decision to praise him specifically for destroying the world.
“Laad Gad my friend who was to be and no more my friend is killing the world – Even tho we don't talk, am so happy to see him succeed!!? Shouts to Burna you burning it…. Love”.
Remember that after Shatta Wale's tirade against Nigerian artists being pushed in Ghana, the Grammy Award winner challenged Shatta Wale to a one-on-one fight. However, the offer was not accepted.
Burna Boy challenged Shatta Wale to a battle while speaking out against the objective of separating Nigeria and Ghana on his Instagram account.
The Ye crooner wrote, “Dem dey play South African, American and UK music also for Ghana but na Nigeria own be issue. Something fishy is smelling.
“Pushing this agenda of separation between our beautiful African nations is a grave disservice to the generations coming after us, and it goes against everything I stand for as a man and as an unapologetic pan africanist.
“Therefore, if Shatta or anyone has a personal problem with me, I'm still open to fight 1 on 1 and squash it after; the same way I've always been. Nobody will ruin the unity we continuously try to build for a stronger and better Africa.”
Shatta Wale quickly replied, saying he was prepared to meet Burna Boy and engage in a fistfight.
He wrote, “I double dare you @Burnaboy. In fact I 10x dare you. This no be fight just lyrical. Like you go sing song. #lyricalchampion. Don't let anyone tell you that I want to use you for hype because you know money hasn't been a problem from day one I met you. Don't forget yourself so soon.”
He added: “Oh @Burnaboy says he wants a 1 on 1 …ok..let's do this Accra Sports Stadium. I just call shots. If you be man! Don't come sing your song let's do freestyle!! Ghana – Nigeria. I am f**king ready!
Burna Boy, in contrast, asserted that it would be simple for him to make the rapper's life unbearable in retribution.
In a deleted post on his Instagram story, Burna Boy wrote, “This guy thinks I have time. @shattawalenima this ain't 8mile! No be rap battle.
“It's a fist battle like the type real men do. We can do it anywhere you want; behind closed doors or in stadium for the world to see.
“Stop acting like you don't know i've been trynna set this up since january last year. Consider this an easy way out for you because I could easily make your life a living hell anywhere you go outside Ghana.
“You know I got more money than all your godfathers combined. “Fool wants to come and sing rubbish. I'm trynna see ur teeth and blood on the floor boy. You talking about singing. Joker.” (sic)
