Sidney Poitier was an Actor back in the days. He was born in Miami but grew up in the Bahamas. He was the first black man to win the best actor Oscar for Lilies of the Field. He did so alongside Harry Belafonte who was the pioneer of black presence back then in Hollywood cinemas.
