Sir Cliff Richard Feared He Will Die After False Child Sexual Assault Allegations

Sir Cliff Richard has opened up on the mental toll that was burdened on him during his false child sexual assault allegations and hinted at fearing dying from a heart attack.


The 81-year-old singer firmly denied the allegations against him and was never arrested or charged after his house was searched by Police officers in 2014 after a complaint was lodged to the Met Police’s operation ‘Yewtree’.


Sir Cliff Richard was awarded compensation from the South Yorkshire Police with BBC coverage as the case unfolded.

Opening up on his mental state at the time, the singer urged that people fight for a change in the law to keep suspects anonymous until they are duly charged adding that being falsely accused can destroy.


Sir Cliff revealed that he feared he was “going to die of a heart attack” and woke up sometimes with his heart racing. Sir Cliff who spoke in the House of Lords on Wednesday, branded the internet a “disaster area for most people now…You can’t trust anybody anymore.”
