A Ghanaian singer known for her contributions to some of the country’s most popular songs wants to know if she is the country’s most overlooked female musician.
Even with all of her incredible accomplishments and multiple Vodafone Ghana Music Award nominations, she feels that she might not be getting the credit she truly deserves.
On October 23rd, in an Instagram post, the “Weather” hitmaker posed a significant question to her two million fans, asking, “The Most Underrated Female Musician in Ghana?” She accompanied her question with a collection of images from an occasion.
Given her amazing vocal talent and lyrical prowess, Sista Afia’s post indicates her desire for acknowledgement and recognition as one of Ghana’s renowned female musicians.
Francisca Gawugah, a Ghanaian high life, afro-pop, and afrobeat artist, is better known in the entertainment world as Sista Afia. The well-known Ghanaian Bishop Duncan-Williams’ niece is her. She was raised in Accra and Kumasi after being born in Accra, Ghana, on January 7, 1993.
Before moving to the United Kingdom to study nursing, Sista Afia attended the Reverend John Teye Memorial Institute, Angel Educational Complex, and Afia Kobi Ampe Girls Senior High School.
