Report trending is that at least six people have died and nine seriously injured after a wall rock collapsed on a motorboat below a waterfall in southeastern Brazil on Saturday, this has broken many hearts.
Tourists were having the best of fun when all of a sudden, a tower of rocks suddenly broke away from a canyon wall and crashed down on a lot of tourists touring in their leisure boats.
The accident sent quite a huge wave to the lake at Capitolio, in Minas Gerais state.
Videos fast trending on social media showed tourists present at the scene shouting as the part of the rock hit the water and eventually kill some. The video captured showed that at least one of the affected boats sank while the others present sped off for safety.
Firemen and divers who arrived at the scene reported that 20 people believed to be tourists are missing. They also analyzed the footage and realized that two boats were hit by the column rock.
During their operation, 24 people were rescued and thanks be to God, they were strong and alive. Pedro Aihara who is the spokesperson of the fire department who took charge of the operation revealed that six bodies have been recovered and that they are still working to recover more.
23 people who were rescued were treated for minor injuries and discharged however, one was in a serious condition having some severe head and facial injuries.
Others who were directly hit had broken bones and are in dire need of prayers to survive. For the past two weeks, the region where the accident took place has had two weeks of massive rainfall.
That could have caused the column rock to lose and then eventually fall off at the wrong time which was Saturday.
A dike overflowed at an iron ore mine 300 kilometres to the east, cutting off a major federal highway.
