Sonakshi Sinha was born on June 2, 1987, to Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha.
Sinha's parents are both stars in the film industry. Sinha's mother comes from a Sindhi Hindu family, whilst her father is from a Buharu Kayastha family. Sonakshi Sinha is a renowned actress who has starred in quite a number of movies.

In 2005, Sinha began her career as a costume designer, creating outfits for movies like Mera Dil Leke Dekho. In the 2010 movie Dabangg, in which she co-starred with Salman Khan, she made her acting debut.

The movie eventually turned into an all-time classic and the highest-grossing movie of 2010. In order to play a country girl, Sinha had to shed 3 kilograms. Renowned critic Taran Adarsh praised Sonakshi Sinha:s performance, saying that “Sonakshi Sinha looks fresh, acts confidently, and matches off quite well with Salman.
