Fans who condemned Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido, over her daughter Imade's birthday message to the musician have received a public apology from her.
Imade wrote a brief letter to celebrate her father Davodo's 30th birthday on November 21, 2022, as had been previously stated.
The singer's first daughter also paid tribute to her late brother, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The 7-year-old, who had taken a break from social media following the tragic death of Ifeanyi, shared a photo of Davido holding on to his daughters while carrying Ifeanyi; an act of tribute to the departed young one.
Fans who saw her post criticized Sophia Momodu on social media, calling her actions utterly impertinent for posting a photo of Ifeanyi, whom she never acknowledged while he was alive.
They criticized her for being insensitive as well.
Sophia Momodu responded by using her daughter's Instagram account to apologize to fans who were enraged by the birthday post and to explain why people should remember Ifeanyi.
She wrote;
“I REALIZE THAT THE EARLIER POST MAY COME ACROSS AS INSENSITIVE AND I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE AS THAT WAS NOT THE INTENTION.
IMADE DEEPLY LOVES HER FATHER AND ALL HER SIBLINGS, AND AS A MOTHER, I'M DOING MY BEST TO GUIDE HER THROUGH THE DIFFICULT EMOTION OF GRIEF FROM THE LOSS OF HER BROTHER WHILST TRYING TO CELEBRATE HER FATHER'S BIRTHDAY.
