Tonto Dikeh, a deputy governor candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state of Rivers, has stated that she is prepared to take whatever criticism that may be directed at her throughout the course of her political campaign.

According to VimBuzz, Chief Ralph Nwosu, the party’s national chairman, announced the Nollywood actress as Tonte Ibraye’s running partner on Friday, June 24, 2022.

During the lecture, Nwosu urged Nigerian youth to support young people running for office at all levels.

Dikeh stated that she is well-prepared for the role at hand while appearing on the Channels Television show Politics Today on Sunday, June 26.

The actress said that she was ready to respond to any criticism when asked if she was ready for the potential scrutiny from the public, particularly when it came to family matters.

She stated:

“Honestly, I’m ready for anything. It’s not something I suddenly came up with or emerged with; I’ve had three years to work on it. We have a lot of time to work on this, and I’m ready for any criticism.

“It doesn’t matter where the question originates or doesn’t originate.

I don’t dispute that I’ve failed in life, and everyone can see that. But will I fail at being a leader, and have I ever failed at being a leader?”

“Let’s start with parenting. Have I ever failed at being a mother? Have I ever had a foundational failure? I believe I was one of the foundations that genuinely defended and supported our nation during the epidemic.
