Former President Donald Trump announced the launch of the new social media platform in a press release last year and checks made exposed the fact that the Truth Social Media App is a site similar to Twitter. It is all set and done to be unveiled this year.
Trump said in the statement while speaking on his plans:
“We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favourite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable.”
In addition, Donald Trump was named as the Chairman of the firm that would handle the Truth social media app that is known as Chairman of Trump Media & Technology Group.
The announcement was made live on October 20, 2021, at the Palm Beach dateline. The announcement stated that the would be a merger of Trump Media & Technology Group and Digital World Acquisition Corp. This company is based in Miami and they are specialized in reorganization and asset acquisition.
The insurrection of January 6, 2021, United States Capitol forced Donald Trump to be banned from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The ban is pending until January 2023. Before he got banned, Donald Trump has constantly lambasted social and technology platforms for trying soo hard to silent him.
Trump said in the statement:
“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!”
What is Trump Media and Technology?
A statement about Trump Media and Technology explained that this firm is a public entity. It read:
“Trump Media and Technology create a rival to the liberal media consortium and fight back against the “Big Tech” companies of Silicon Valley, which have used their unilateral power to silence opposing voices in America.”Trump has long disparaged cable and traditional news platforms, including CNN and The New York Times, attacking them for what he viewed as ‘negative’ coverage and liberal bias.
Trump Media and Technology Group have also added to their vision plans to launch a video platform, TMTG+, which would feature “non-woke” content.
