American serial killer Robert Wesley Knighton (February 5, 1941 – May 27, 2003) went on a four-day killing spree across two states with Lawrence Lingle Brittain (born September 11, 1972) and Ruth Renee Williams (born February 1967) following his prison sentence for kidnapping and manslaughter in Missouri.

In return for leniency, Brittain and Williams both entered guilty pleas, testified against Knighton, and were later released from prison. In 2003, Knighton was put to death after being found guilty of two murders in Oklahoma.

On May 27, 2003, Knighton was put to death by lethal injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. His last meal was a large order of onion rings, banana cream pie, strawberry milkshake, and pepperoni pizza.

Knighton apologized and thanked his counsel in his scarcely audible concluding remark. He then said, “I’ll see you again someday,” to Sue Norton. God be with you,” he uttered. She gave a thumbs up in response.

Williams received parole just before Knighton was put to death. On August 10, 2007, Brittain was granted parole.
