Tendai Laxton Biti, born August 6, 1966, is a Zimbabwean politician who served as Zimbabwe’s Finance Minister from 2009 to 2013. He is the current Member of Parliament for Harare East Constituency and the Citizens Coalition for Change’s second Vice President.

Tendai Biti was the Secretary-General of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and, later, the Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC-T) political parties, as well as a Member of Parliament for Harare East, until he was expelled from the party and recalled from parliament in mid-2014, before regaining the seat in 2018.

Tendai Biti was a founding member of the MDC in 1999. In 2000, he was elected to the Harare East constituency as a Member of Parliament.

Tendai Biti attended Goromonzi High School from 1980 to 1985, where he was named deputy head boy in 1985. In 1986, he enrolled as a freshman at the University of Zimbabwe’s law school. Biti was born in Dzivarasekwa, Harare, and is the oldest of six children.
