A pinworm can also be referred to as a threadworm and it is a small, thin, white roundworm called Enterobius vermicularis that sometimes lives in the colon and rectum of humans. Pinworms are as long as a staple.

The infection could cause intense itching and scratching if not treated and probably result in secondary bacterial infections which may be very difficult to treat.

The unfortunate thing is that untreated people can continue to infect other people. Pinworms don’t cause any severe harm except itching and restless sleep and it doesn’t take long to get rid of them.

Foods that could possibly contain these pinworms are undercooked pork, and other undercooked or raw meats, such as beef, raw fruits, and vegetables. Pinworms does wiggle and it is especially active at night or early in the morning.
