Celebrated South African singer-songwriter Zahara has away.

“Nqaba Yam,” Zahara’s fifth album, marked her comeback in 2021 and demonstrated her range with influences from the Amapiano culture.

She lived there with her parents, Nokhaya and Mlamli Mkutukana, and is the sixth of seven children.

Zahara started singing in the school chorus at age six, and at nine years old, her strong voice earned her an invitation to join the senior choir.

On December 11, 2023, she tragically died in a Johannesburg hospital.

Known for her Afro-soul sound, Zahara became well-known in 2011 when her debut album “Loliwe” went double platinum.

Her next albums, “Country Girl” (2015), “Mgodi” (2017), and “Phendula” (2013), garnered awards a lot.
