David Khari Webber Chappelle who was born on August 24, 1973, is a stand-up comedian and actor from the United States.
He is best known for his satirical sketch comedy show Chappelle’s Show, which aired from 2003 to 2006.
The program, which Chappelle co-wrote with Neal Brennan, ran until Chappelle left in the middle of the third season’s production.
Chappelle went on to do stand-up comedy around the United States after leaving the program. By 2006, Esquire had dubbed Chappelle the “comic genius of America,” and a Billboard writer had dubbed him “the greatest” in 2013.
He was voted No. 9 in Rolling Stone’s “50 Best Stand Up Comics of All Time” in 2017.
