Kirstie Louise Alley, an American actress, lived from January 12, 1951, to December 5, 2022. Her breakout role was Rebecca Howe in the NBC comedy Cheers (1987–1993), for which she received both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe in 1991.

Alley received more Emmy and Golden Globe nominations while playing the lead in the sitcom Veronica’s Closet from 1997 to 2000. In Look Who’s Talking (1989) and its two sequels, Look Who’s Talking Too (1990) and Look Who’s Talking Now (1990), she portrayed Mollie Jensen (1993).

Alley was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Robert Deal Alley and Lillian Alley, owners of a lumber company. Craig and Colette were her siblings. In 1969, Alley received his high school diploma from Wichita Southeast.

She stopped going to Kansas State University after her second year there. Alley moved to Los Angeles to study Scientology and work as an interior designer. Alley had a 1979 cameo as a contestant on the game show Match Game.

She won both rounds, earning $500 in the opening round and $5500 in the closing round. She also appeared on the game show Password Plus in 1980.
