First-class English cricketer Alexander Zak Lees was born on April 14, 1993. Lees is a left-handed batsman who also occasionally bowls right-handed leg-spin. He was previously a first-class player for Yorkshire County Cricket Club and is currently under contract with Durham. In March 2022, Lees played against the West Indies in his England cricket team’s debut international game.

He attended Holy Trinity Senior School in Halifax, West Yorkshire, where he was born. Before he turned thirteen, he began playing cricket with Bradshaw Cricket Club in the Halifax Cricket League, swiftly making the transition from junior to senior levels. At the age of 13, Lees moved from Bradshaw to Illingworth. Beginning at the under-11 level, he was affiliated with Yorkshire in 2006.

Prior to making the transition to the first team, he participated in and served as captain of the Yorkshire Academy in the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League and the Yorkshire Second XI in the Second XI Championship. He scored 38 runs in his first-class cricket debut against India A in June 2010.
