Raimel Antonio Tapia Linarez, an outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball, was born on February 4, 1994, in the Dominican Republic. Tapia made his MLB debut in 2016 after joining the Colorado Rockies.

From an international free agent, the Colorado Rockies acquired Tapia in 2010.

He represented the Grand Junction Rockies in the rookie-level Pioneer League in 2013, when he was honoured as the league’s player of the month for the month of July.

For Grand Junction, he had 29 straight games with a hit in the bag. Baseball Prospectus listed him as the No. 97 prospect in the whole game prior to the 2014 baseball season. After the season, he was named the 2013 Topps Pioneer League Player of the Year.

He was added to the Rockies’ 40-man roster after the 2015 season. Tapia began the 2016 season with the Hartford Yard Goats of the Class AA Eastern League after being selected to participate in the 2016 All-Star Futures Game.

He was transferred by the Rockies to the Class AAA Albuquerque Isotopes of the Pacific Coast League in August. The Rockies promoted Tapia to the major leagues on September 2, 2016.
