Famous Nollywood actress, model, and television personality, Georgina Onuoha has taken to social media to criticize parties that have been involved in spreading the alleged mental breakdown of fellow actress, Genevieve Nnaji which has gone viral after the actress deleted all her social posts.
According to the outspoken actress, it is a crime for anyone to put the private issues of another person in public.
She added that though she has been friends with Genevieve Nnaji, she cannot say anything about her private life.
“We need to be wary of the kind of information we consume on social media. Most often they are lies from the pit of hell.
I have known and worked with Genny for over twenty-something years even before the industry was called “ Nollywood” We enjoyed our 90s working so hard entertaining Africa. The last time I saw her, and chatted was in 2015.
I Do not know anything regarding her private and personal life and don’t have anything to say to that effect and I don’t believe the bs has been posted online.
So don’t expect anything from this post other than me saying that what is being done to her online is criminal. It’s the worst kind of defamation.
If you are a healthcare practitioner working in any hospital in America and you are leaking any patient’s health information to the public, you are committing a crime.”
She went on to advise Genevieve Nnaji’s family to put a legal case against those liable for propagating the news.
She also advised every public figure to make sure they sign non-disclosure agreements with every person that comes an inch close to their private life.
“To dear Genny’s family, your child and sister have been violated with all the shenanigans making rounds on social media. Get you a lawyer to hold all accountable for this smear.
It is morally reprehensible to subject anyone to such cruelty. Health Information is confidential and protected by law. If you are a blog that has posted these fallacies about this young woman, I hope you know you are on notice…PS: Dear public figures in Nigeria, this should serve as a wake-up call for you all. Before you enter any hospital or do anything with anyone nowadays, please sign a non-disclosure agreement”.
