What’s After No Nut November?

No Nut November is an internet challenge centered on avoiding masturbation, sex, and ejaculation (or colloquially “to nut”) during the month of November. It began in late 2010 and gained traction on social media during and after 2017.

Although No Nut November was intended to be satirical, some participants believe that refraining from ejaculating and viewing pornography has health benefits. No Nut November was first mentioned in the Urban Dictionary in 2011, and the movement began to gain traction on social media in 2017.

It is linked to the Reddit NoFap community, which encourages its members not to masturbate. The /r/NoNutNovember Reddit community grew from 16,500 subscribers in November 2018 to 52,000 subscribers in November 2019.

Following the endorsement of the campaign by some far-right public figures, including Paul Joseph Watson, E. J. Dickson of Rolling Stone suggested that the movement had been co-opted by the far-right. Vice criticized the challenge in 2018 after followers tweeted threats to xHamster, claiming it had been co-opted by far-right figures.
