Where Are The Survivors Of Society Of The Snow Now?

On January 4, 2024, “Society of The Snow” made its Netflix debut. It gave viewers a peek of the survivors’ current whereabouts and a cinematic depiction of their incredible journey. In the genuine account of the 1972 Andes plane accident told in “Society of The Snow,” it is revealed that 14 of the 16 survivors are still alive today.

These brave survivors come together every year on December 22 to commemorate their rescue. In 2022, they also got together on October 13 to remember the victims fifty years after the horrible event.

The movie emphasizes the fortitude and trust that they gained from the experience. The accounts of the survivors never cease to inspire, illustrating the deep relationship that held them together during those trying 72 days in the Andes.

Where Are The Survivors Of Society Of The Snow Now?

In honour of their rescue, the survivors of the 1972 Andes plane accident, known as “The Society of the Snow,” get reunited on December 22. The video depicts the actual narrative of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, commemorating 50 years with the survivors’ thoughts.

The movie tells the story of the crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 in the Andes mountains, in which only 16 out of 29 passengers managed to survive. With the exception of José Luis “Coche” Inciarte, who died in 2023, and Javier Methol, who passed away in 2015, the majority of the survivors are still alive today despite the challenges.
