Joseph Madison is an American radio talk-show host and activist.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Madison graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, receiving an honorary doctorate in 2019.

Madison embarked on his broadcasting career in 1980 at Detroit’s WXYZ-AM radio station.

In the early 1990s, he joined WWRC-AM, standing out in a predominantly white lineup by addressing issues, including race, for the station’s multiracial audience.

After leaving in 1998 due to format changes, he initiated an online chat show.

His radio journey continued at WOL-AM, syndicated on the Radio One Talk Network, and XM Satellite Radio.

He hosted a record-breaking 52-hour marathon on Feb. 25–27, 2015, officially recognized by the Guinness World Record Organization.

Apart from his radio career, Madison is an active political activist.

He has advocated for issues such as exposing CIA involvement in cocaine trafficking and promoting voting rights legislation, even undertaking hunger strikes for these causes.
