Sheena Shirley Easton (née Orr) is a Scottish singer and actress who came into the public eye in an episode of the first British musical reality television series “The Big Time: Pop Singer”, which recorded her attempts to gain a record deal, and her eventual signing with the EMI label.

Easton’s first two singles titled, “Modern Girl” and “9 to 5” (later released as “Morning Train (Nine to Five)” in the US), both entered the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart simultaneously. Easton became one of the most successful British female recording artists of the 1980s.

A six-time Grammy Award nominee, Sheena Easton is a two-time winner, winning the award for Best New Artist in 1982, and Best Mexican-American Performance in 1985 for her duet with Mexican singer Luis Miguel on the 1984 single “Me Gustas Tal Como Eres”. Easton has recorded 15 studio albums, released a total of 55 singles and had 20 consecutive US singles, including 15 Top 40 hits, seven Top 10 hits, and one No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1981 and 1991. She has also received five RIAA-certified Gold albums and one Platinum album.

Sheena Easton is still active in show business. She is currently touring across one country and has one upcoming concert. The final concert of the tour will be at Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts, Pepperdine University in Malibu, on October 26, 2023.

Easton reportedly resides in Henderson, Nevada.
