Eminent American actress was born on January 12, 1951. Alley died on December 5, 2022, at the age of 71. Alley's breakthrough role was Rebecca Howe in the Cheers (1987-1993), for which she won a Golden Globe in 1991 and an Emmy Award. Alley was the lead in the sitcom Veronica's Closet from 1997 to 2000, garnering more Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

While playing the Vulcan Starfleet officer Lieutenant Saavik in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Alley made her film debut in 1982. She later claimed that she declined to take on the role again in the subsequent two sequels because she had been offered less money than for Star Trek II.

Alley appeared in a number of lesser-known movies in the years that followed such as Runway, Blind Date, and One More Chance. Alley played the lead in the 1985 ABC mini-series North and South.

The parents of Christie Alley are Lillian and Robert Deal Alley. Robert was a businessman who owned a lumber company. Very little information is known about her mother Lillian.
