As the Armenian judge on James Corden's reality competition series The World's Best, Arthur Gourounlian (born 1 June 1980) is an Armenian-born professional dancer and television personality.
Armenia was the country of Arthur Gourounlian's birth and upbringing. During the First Nagorno-Karabakh War in 1992, Gourounlian and his family were compelled to flee the country. Gorounlian requested asylum in Brussels along with his parents, sister, aunt, and cousin. Before performing as a go-go dancer in nightclubs throughout Italy, Spain, and France, Gourounlian received barbering training. Gourounlian relocated to London in 2002 to pursue a professional dancing career.
In 2019, Drew Barrymore, Faith Hill, RuPaul, and host James Corden were joined by Gourounlian as the Armenian judge on The World's Best. Later that year, Gorounlian and his spouse Brian Dowling competed on Ireland's Fittest Family's charity special, where they placed third and donated €1,000 to charity.
Gourounlian was officially announced as the next judge for the Irish season of Dancing with the Stars beginning in January 2022 on November 12th, 2021.
Brian Dowling, a television host and two-time Big Brother champion, and Gourounlian were wed on July 30, 2015, in a ceremony at Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow. They purchased a residence in Kildare, the county where Dowling was raised, in 2021.
