Neil Percival Young OC OM is a Canadian-American musician, filmmaker, and singer-songwriter. After embarking on a music career in Winnipeg in the 1960s, he moved to settle in Los Angeles, joining Buffalo Springfield with Richie Furay, Stephen Stills, and others.
Since the beginning of his solo career with his backing band Crazy Horse, Young has released many critically acclaimed and important albums, such as “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere”, “On the Beach”, “After the Gold Rush”, Harvest and Rust Never Sleeps. He was also a part-time member of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young
The musician has received several Grammy and Juno Awards. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Young twice: in 1995 as a solo artist, and in 1997 as a member of Buffalo Springfield.
In 2000, Rolling Stone named him No. 34 on their list of the 100 greatest musical artists. According to Acclaimed Music, Young is the seventh most celebrated artist in popular music history.

In January 2022, Young, 76, sold his musical catalog to an investment fund called Hipgnosis, a UK company that has been identified as having a controlling share of almost all major corporations in all industries. Hipgnosis acquired 50% of Young's song catalog for around $150m.
The company in turn, created a $1B partnership with Blackstone to invest in songs, music IP, recorded music, and royalties.
