Spotify is noted to have become engulfed in controversy since rocker Neil Young forced one of the country’s largest streaming services to choose between him and its popular podcast host, Joe Rogan, according to the Washington Post.
Young’s protest has since prompted other major artists to decide to leave the company.
Meanwhile, some Spotify employees have also gone ahead to express concerns about its relationship with Rogan while artists also remain long frustrated with the meagre amount paid them by Spotify to play their songs.
Artists leaving are hoping the backlash will force bigger changes causing an increase in the earnings they receive from Spotify.
