American novelist and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott was birthed on April 7, 1970 in San Francisco, California, United States.

The American novelist and philanthropist rose to stardom for her involvement in Amazon. She also became popular for her philanthropic efforts, and her current dissolved marriage to Amazon Executive Chairman Jeff Bezos.

MacKenzie Scott achieved an American Book Award for her 2005 debut novel, The Testing of Luther Albright in 2006.

Having received her high school education from Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut graduating in 1988, Scott proceeded to earn her bachelor’s degree in English at Princeton University in 1992.

The novelist later published her second novel, named Traps, in 2013.

Scott has also served as executive director of Bystander Revolution, an anti-bullying organization, since establishing it in 2014.

Committed to giving at least half of her wealth to charity as a signatory to the Giving Pledge,

Scott gave out US$5.8 billion in charitable gifts in 2020, deemed as one of the largest annual distributions by a private individual to working charities. She has further given out a $2.7 billion in 2021.

MacKenzie Scott went on to marry Lakeside School’s science teacher Dan Jewett in 2021. This comes off following her split from Jeff Bezoz in 2019. Although Jewett reveals he’s married to a generous person and joins her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others, it is unknown why Scott married Jewett.
